Release Information
The capacity utilization indicator measures the use of proportion used in the installed capacity of the industrial sector of Argentina.
The capacity utilization dataset is related to the industrial production due to both being part of the EMI, a family of indicators for the manufacturing sector.
The calculation takes into account what the maximum production of each sector can obtain and compares that to what is currently being used, called the installed capacity. Some other criteria that are considered is the potential utilization of the production plants using the maximum possible adjustments and stops for the proper maintenance of that set capacity.
Weights used to calculate the Monthly Industrial Estimator (EMI) are used to calculate the capacity utilization in industry structure. This calculation also incorporates methodological changes linked to the expansion of the sectorial coverage.
