Release Information

This is an annual dataset reporting data on compenation of employees. Series include total compensation as well as a breakdown by employers' social contribution, gross wages and salaries, and deductions for social contributions and income tax, and net wages and salaries.   Average monthly values by employee are provided for total compensation, gross wages and salaries at current prices, and net wages and salaries at current prices.

Compensation of employees is calculated as the sum of gross wages and salaries plus the sum of social contributions. The income data is found using the wage tax statistics, the closed accounts of local governments, and the financial management statistics of other public legal entities

When national accounts are published every July, statistical revisions are completed covering the three years preceding the published year.

Revisions completed annually for current national accounts are based on information taken from individual surveys with different frequencies. These surveys include:

  • the annual Structural Business Statistics
  • the five-yearly household budget survey
  • the turnover tax statistics

Major revisions are completed only when new concepts and/or methods are to be implemented or when complete and new data sources are available.
