Statistics Canada provides statistics that help Canadians better understand their country, with data on population, resources, economy, society and culture. In short, they are often referred to as Statcan. Statcan is legislated to serve as Canada's central statistical agency for the whole of Canada and each of the provinces. Statcan's key socioeconomic database is called CANSIM. CANSIM is updated daily, but the data in the table here are only updated annually.
The data listed here in the Bank of Canada, Money Market and Other Interest Rates, comes from Table 176-0048, Survey 7502.
Statcan has various forms of obtaining information. A census is conducted every five years and there are about 350 active surveys on virtually all aspects of Canadian life.
Data is subject to revision. Source will usually post revisions for the past few days with the current update.
Not all series update for the current day. Some series lag from 1-3 days.
