The Monthly Industrial Survey (EIM) has a coverage of 205 classes of activity.
The conceptual design of the EIA considers the International Recommendations issued by the Statistics Division of the United Nations (UN), together with the results of the Industrial Census conducted by the INEGI in Mexico.
The information contained in this release is generated by INEGI using the Monthly Industrial Survey and is known on the date stated in the Schedule Broadcast Information Coyuntura.
The keys used to identify the types of economic activity relate to the classification of Mexican Activities and Products (CMAP) 1994, which has as a general reference the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC), developed by the UN.
The target population consists of manufacturing, defined as any economic unit that has a unique location, bordered by buildings and fixed installations, combining resources under a single ownership or control, on their own or third party (outsourcing), and performs activities of assembly, processing, and partial or total transformation of raw materials resulting in the production of goods and related services, including primarily on one kind of economic activity.
The statistical frame of reference is the Industrial Census is conducted every five years, so the directory is the population census of the establishments which are not 100% maquiladora export, then select the main kind of activity and facilities larger, variable selection is the production value.
The sampling scheme is deterministic. This was incorporated establishments to cover up the sample for each type of activity selected 80% of the value of production reported in the 1994 Industrial Census, except in those activities in which the number of observation units is very large for which allocates a fixed amount of 100 establishments. It is also noted that there is a group of classes in which production is highly concentrated in a limited number of establishments, joining them in this case.
The survey period is 15 working days of each month, where the collection of information is done in part through interviews deferred, ie, it refers in the first instance and then the questionnaire is to collect information. The other part is captured through an electronic questionnaire via the Internet.
Yes, whenever there are updates in the Extended Monthly Industrial Survey (EIMA).
